Derek Clune

Derek Clune was born in Ruan, County Clare and has been living in Shannon since 1976. Now retired after working for 25 years in SPS International and 16 years in Penn Engineering  Galway. Derek has been heavily involved in volunteering in Shannon with roles as Chairperson of Shannon Tidy Towns and Cronan Residents' Association, as well as being the Secretary for Shannon Men's Shed.

Derek believes that while Shannon is a great place to live and bring up a family, the lack of infrastructure and facilities for all residents is a serious issue. His hopes of being part of Shannon Community Partnership is to unite the residents and communities of Shannon to be a powerful force in getting Shannon to achieve its full potential.
