In 2022 Clare County Council tasked BDP to undertake a Masterplan of Shannon. Following this process, a number of proposals were set out, one of which is the One Shannon Hub, which be a multi-purpose civic, performance & community space with multiple uses.

The Shannon Town Centre Masterplan sets out an agreed overall vision, development and delivery strategy and most significantly, a commitment by Clare County Council for the proper planning and sustainable development of Shannon Town Centre.

Clare Arts Office is delighted to be selected for a Creative Places Research & Development Award from the Arts Council. Creative Places Shannon is led by Clare County Council & will use the award to establish what Shannon needs in relation to Arts & Culture.

Clare County Council in partnership with Transport Infrastructure Ireland 9TII) are developing the planning and design for the N19 Shannon Airport Access Road Improvement Scheme.
 

The project to restore Hastings Farmhouse and the adjoining outbuilding as a community and heritage facility has again moved a step forward, with the production of a technical report by Southgate and Associates.

The OPW, working in partnership with Clare County Council and other Local Authorities, have completed the Shannon Catchment Flood Risk Assessment & Management Study, and concluded that a flood relief scheme would be viable &effective for the community.

The new Local Area Plan will replace the existing Shannon Town and Environs Local Area Plan 2012-2018 (as extended). It will set out an overall strategy for the proper planning and sustainable development of Shannon Town and its Environs over a six year period.

This draft LECP framework document sets out, for a six-year period, the high-level goals, objectives, and strategic actions that are required to identify, promote, and support the socio-economic development of the county, 

Clare County Council has welcomed the allocation of €300 thousand in funding in this year’s Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) grant allocations for the Shannon to Bunratty-Sixmilebridge-Limerick greenway.
 

The Framework sets out a practical step by step action plan for stakeholders to work collaboratively to enhance their local town or village. It will be a key support document for towns and villages applying for funding under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme.
