In this talk, Elaine will guide us through the recent excavation in the Burren of two hut sites. These features form part of the rich archaeological landscape of the Noughaval area, in a reguin which features habitation from the Neolithic through to the modern era. This excavation primarily will shed light on early medieval Ireland, featuring a number of fascinating finds and human burials.
Elaine Lynch is an archaeologist who has been working in the archaeological sector for over 18 years in both the commercial and on research excavations. She holds an MPhil in Archaeology from University College Cork, with her research entitled ‘A study of Grooved Ware in Ireland’. For the past four years, she has joined the Field Monument Advisor Programme in Co. Clare and works with Burren Programme. She also works as a pottery specialist and illustrator.
