4th of May

Karl Fitzmaurice came 2nd place in the Great Limerick Run Marathon with a time of 2:25:57. You can see the whole route and more details here.

Karl also came 5th in the Dublin City Half Marathon back in March with a time of 1:08:22.

Together with Karl Fitzmaurice's phenomenal victories on the road, Shannon AC is well and truly established as a competitive club at the adult level. Last week our adult ladies relay team got their first training session and our adult sprint section is growing in numbers. As for kids and teens, we are aiming at developing our throwing and jumping section, with a significant number of medals so far this year at the Track and Field County Championships in Ennis.

FUNDRAISING FOR THE BUILDING OF THE ENTIRE 400M ATHLETICS TRACK IN SHANNON

Over the next few weeks, we will be raising money to help realise our dream of a full 400m track in Shannon on the Shannon AC site. We want to provide our members and the wider community with a real sports facility that will benefit all the local residents. At the moment Shannon and the surrounding area do not have any athletics facilities, apart from the 100m track on our site. A full 400m track will provide an additional sporting option for the area. We have planning permission for that.
