Over a number of months, a dedicated group of volunteers worked behind the scenes to re-establish the parade and bring renewed energy, colour and enjoyment back to our town. It was truly encouraging to see the streets of Shannon filled with families, friends and supporters, all smiling despite challenging weather conditions.
We would like to thank all participating groups, organisations and businesses whose creativity and commitment made the parade such a success.
Special thanks to Rory Lynch Transport and NewGen Transport, along with drivers Bryce, Robbie and Danny, for their invaluable support in facilitating the return of floats to the parade.
We also acknowledge the contribution of the student mascots from St. Patrick’s Comprehensive School - Imogen, Tomas, Cian, Simon and Aaron - who brought great energy and enjoyment to the day.
Our thanks to judges Taryn de Vere, Asha Murray and Paulina Stepniak for their time and consideration, and to Zimmer Biomet for sponsoring the prizes.
We were honoured to have Gerry Murphy as Grand Marshal and Bartek Bartnik as Junior Grand Marshal, both of whom represented the community with pride.
We also extend our appreciation to Shannon Guards and Shannon Municipal District for their support in ensuring the event was delivered safely, and to Kacper Zybert and his team in Shannon Town Centre for their ongoing cooperation and assistance.
Finally, we would like to thank the people of Shannon for their continued support and enthusiasm, and to the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Task Team whose dedication made the event possible.
This parade reflects the strength and spirit of the community, and we look forward to building on this momentum in the year ahead.
